Frequently Asked Questions

What types of clients do you represent?

We represent creators, talent, businesses, and entertainment professionals across film, television, digital media, sports, gaming, and podcasts Whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger, we're here to help protect, grow, and monetize what you've built.

Do you only represent clients in Los Angeles?

No. While based in Los Angeles, we work with talent, businesses, and brands doing business throughout the United States and on an international scale.

Can you review my contract?

Yes. We regularly review, negotiate, and draft talent, production, sponsorship, licensing, financing, representation, and other entertainment-related agreements.

Can you negotiate the deal for me?

Absolutely. Our goal is to improve material deal points (money, credit, deliverables, backend), protect rights, and preserve future opportunities.

I don't have a deal yet. Can you still help?

Yes. Many clients come to us while developing a project, launching a business, raising capital, or exploring a new opportunity.

Do you only provide legal advice?

No. We often serve as a strategic advisor, helping clients evaluate opportunities, solve business problems, and make informed decisions.

Do I need a lawyer?

Yes. Most deals involve money, intellectual property, rights, and long-term obligations. We help you understand what you're signing, avoid costly mistakes, negotiate better terms, and protect the opportunities that come next. The value we create exceeds the cost of hiring us.

My Agent or Manager has an in-house lawyer…why do I need my own?

Your agent's or manager's lawyer represents their company. We represent you. The most successful people in entertainment, from actors and creators to producers and entrepreneurs, have independent counsel focused solely on their rights, compensation, and future opportunities.

Can you help me start a business?

Yes. We assist with entity formation, ownership structures, financing, intellectual property, and the legal framework needed to grow a business.

What if I've already signed the agreement and I'm in a bad spot?

You're not necessarily stuck. We regularly help clients evaluate signed agreements, identify leverage, and determine whether there is a path to improve the situation.

Can you help with trademarks and copyrights?

Yes. We handle copyright and trademark registration, licensing, analysis, and intellectual property protection strategies.

Do you handle disputes?

Yes. We enforce contracts, protect intellectual property, recover unpaid compensation, and resolve disputes through demand letters, takedown requests, mediation, arbitration, and other strategic pre-litigation remedies. When necessary, we work alongside experienced litigation counsel.

Will I work directly with Asa?

Yes. Every matter receives direct attorney involvement and strategic oversight from Asa Pitt.

Do you work with startups and emerging clients?

Absolutely. Many of our clients are building careers, companies, brands, productions, and businesses from the ground up.

How do I get started?

Schedule a consultation. We'll discuss your goals, evaluate the situation, and determine how we can help.

Will you help pitch my project or help me get an agent/manager?

Generally, no. For new clients, our focus is on providing legal and business counsel, not shopping projects or making introductions. As relationships develop, we may make strategic introductions when appropriate, but only after we have had an opportunity to understand your work, evaluate your business, and determine what introductions make the most sense.
